John H. Stauffer, Jr. is a 1979 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Washburn University. After graduating from law school, he joined the law firm of Colmery, McClure, Letourneau, Merriam and Stauffer, P.A., where he practiced until the merger of that firm with the law firm of Goodell, Stratton, Edmonds & Palmer, L.L.P. in 1987.

Mr. Stauffer has extensive experience in bankruptcy, business transactions, commercial law and litigation. He has been involved in numerous business acquisitions and sales on behalf of clients around the country, in addition to maintaining a practice of regional and local clients.

Mr. Stauffer has lectured in the area of creditor and debtor rights. He has spoken at seminars sponsored by the Kansas Bar Association and national continuing legal education firms. In addition to a commercial transaction practice, Mr. Stauffer authored "Kansas Newspaper Advertising Law Guide", has been a guest lecturer in several journalism law courses at Washburn University, and was an adjunct professor for Media Law and Ethics from 1996 to 1998.

Mr. Stauffer has been involved in numerous civic activities. He has served as Chapter Chair while on the Board of Directors of the Topeka Chapter of the American Red Cross, and on the Board of Directors of the Topeka Phi Delta Theta Alumni Association. He also is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Washburn University Endowment Association. Mr. Stauffer is a member of the American, Kansas and Topeka Bar Associations.

In 1999, Mr. Stauffer took a leave of absence from the full-time practice of law. He currently serves as Chairman and President of TM Holdings, Inc., a Kansas-based real estate settlement services business with headquarters in Topeka, KS. The company has offices in five states and operates throughout the Midwest.
