Client Commitment

Goodell, Stratton, Edmonds & Palmer, LLP has long been recognized for its practice in the areas of health law and complex commercial transactions. The firm continues to provide legal services in such specialized areas as Administrative, Regulatory and Licensing Law, Appellate Practice, Civil Trial Practice, Compliance Issues, Corporate and Commercial Law, Employment Law, Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts, Health and Hospital Law, Insurance Law, Negligence and Malpractice Defense, Real Estate Law, Taxation, and Workers Compensation among others. Trial practice has been a significant portion of the firm’s work along with other forms of litigation.

The firm routinely represents clients before state and federal governmental agencies at all levels and the Kansas Legislature. The firm has been instrumental in drafting and counseling with regard to a number of bills that later became law. The firm works in partnership with many of its business clients in addressing their on-going needs in an ever-changing regulatory and business environment.

Various attorneys at the firm are admitted to the Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas bars as well as numerous U.S. District Courts, Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal, U.S. Tax Court and the United States Supreme Court. The firm’s attorneys have appeared in every judicial district in the state of Kansas. The firm enjoys a client base across all of Kansas and the Midwest.

To enhance its service to multi-state clients the firm is a member of the State Capital Global Law Firm Group. The “State Capital Group” is an association of independent law firms located in all 50 U.S. state capitals and around the world. Member firm attorneys bring a broad range of skills and experience to the table, and those based in state capitals offer a unique knowledge of state legislatures and regulatory agencies. Member firms of the State Capital Global Law Firm Group practice independently and not in a relationship for the joint practice of law.

 

Service Commitment

Commitment to public and professional service also characterizes the firm. The heritage of the firm includes an Attorney General of Kansas, a United States District Attorney, a County Attorney of Shawnee County, several Topeka Bar Association Presidents, and a President of the Kansas Bar Association. In 1987 the firm expanded through merger with Colmery, McClure, Letourneau, Merriam and Stauffer, P.A., a Topeka firm widely recognized for its expertise and clientele in mass media.

“Leadership Greater Topeka, ” sponsored by the Topeka Chamber of Commerce brings together a broad cross section of both acknowledged and aspiring leaders from the community. Several members of the firm have completed the “Leadership Greater Topeka” program.

Contributions to the community and the state are an important part of the Goodell Stratton Edmonds & Palmer LLP mission.
 We strive to be an exemplary corporate citizen and partner to the Kansas business community.

Present members of the firm continue this commitment to public service and professional responsibility. Members have devoted time and talent to service on the boards of a variety of civic organizations, churches, banks, insurance companies, libraries, hospitals, universities and educational institutions.

 

Professional Commitment

Members of the firm regularly address their colleagues and industry groups as speakers on legal matters. The firm’s attorneys are also recognized for their specialized knowledge in selected areas and have been requested to author several publications based on this knowledge.

Two recent additions to this collection include the “Litigation Guide for Kansas Hospitals,” and “A Physician’s Guide to Medical Malpractice Litigation.”

The firm understands the importance of keeping abreast of developments in the law and changes in a client’s business and industry. The firm participates in local, regional and national organizations to help enhance the firm’s knowledge base in these areas. Some of the organizations include the Women’s Attorney Association of Topeka, Kansas Association of Defense Counsel, the Kansas Association of Hospital Attorneys, Defense Research Institute, American Arbitration Association, American Judicature Society, and International Association of Defense Counsel.

 

Future Commitment
